Sophos Firewall: Change or reset the admin password
Changing or resetting the admin password Via web admin
- Go to Administration > Device access.
- Change your password in Default admin password settings.
- Click Apply.
Changing or resetting the admin password Via command line
- Sign in to the command line.
- Select 2. System Configuration and press Enter.
- Select 1. Set Password for User Admin and press Enter.
- Enter your passwords and press Enter.
Changing or resetting the admin password Via console using PuTTY
This is applicable for Sophos Firewall 17.5 and later.
- Sign in using PuTTY.
- Enter the incorrect password for the initial prompt.
- Enter the uppercase command RESET in the second password prompt.
- Select 4. Reset password for admin user.
- Enter y and press Enter.
- Sign in to web admin and enter admin as the username and password.
